Hi Emerson, Thank you for bringing out the truth! This town is loaded with crap!
These guys are trying to out do D.C. in their underhanded ways and screwing the people out of tax money they think is being well spent and also MID screwing the rate payers out of their expectations that their power payments are being spent on ways to reduce those payments with good technology, less golden parachute retirements like they gave to Short stuff and stop spending on projects like the Mountain house debacle that WASTED RATE PAYER MONEY!!!

I don’t know Judy Sly very well and I didn’t know howintimately connected were the Alliance, Modesto Bee, MID lawyers and the CRAP they pull. It seems obvious that they treat us like a MUSHROOM UNDER A COWPATTY!!! They don’t give a s— about us faithful tax payers. They DO care about their personal profits….at our expense. There is no honor among the members of the City Council
(or the Alliance) starting with Marsh, Muratore, Cogdill……anybody else?

I have heard so much about Mr. Carson being an amazing attorney but I have failed to see it in the case of my loved one whom he is also currently representing. Sad. He doesn’t even know that this person has no criminal history and he has been representing him for a year and a half. I for one would like to see some action.

Hay, you got my support: you call ‘em like you see ‘em.
Thats the way I like to hear it all the time! If it hurts, well, that is the truth.
I know, folks don’t like to hear it and personal things that don’t affect a situation need not be revealed, but politics, on the other hand, being what they are, conniving, underhanded, backstabbing, greedy, too much show-not enough go, etc., ad infinitum, IS FAIR GAME ALL THE TIME!!!

Excellent article!! Sacto better listen to the farmers…and the rest of us human beings! As soon as I heard this STUPID proposition by the Water Control Board,
I started screaming in silence! Yesterday, I called the governor (Brown, remember “if its brown, flush it down”) (if its yellow, let it mellow ALL THIS TO CONSERVE WATER FOR THE F’N FISH) for all the good it did. I also mentioned the new AB bill with the $300,000.00 death benefit for public safety people IS REDICULOUS, THESE GUYS ARE NOT GODS, I/WE DO NOT WORSHIP THEM, and lastly DUMP THE WATER TUNNELS! They arene’t gonna save the danged smelt anyway and the salmon, they are killed by Sacramento’s sewage, if not the stripers or the black bass!! Why can’t they get it through their conservationist save the little darling fish, but oh, the farmers and other human beings, uhhh, theres plenty of them, right?! When the Lord was passing out brains, these people thought he said trains and said:NO THANKS, I’LL WALK”!!! They stumble over their own i.q.’s.

1. Re Bee report today of a survey to reach out to some 400 citizens– when your consultants have prepared their questions, will the city share them with the community at large so that we can at least send in emails or letters about our views?

2. Re reference in same article to a hearing on April 18 on the city “strategic plan” update– is a draft of that document available now so that we can look at it in advance? If not, when can such a document be made available (and may I have a copy)?

3. Comment in advance of April 18 hearing, for your consideration– there is a wide range of planning going on now, including the city general plan update, a refinement of the redevelopment plan, the COG regional (countywide) transportation plan (with SB375 mandates), the downtown “hospitality project” (which may or may not produce its own documentation about aspirations for downtown) and the city “strategic plan.” One of the most difficult challenges to public planners is to ensure its various documents have long-term consistency. A strategic plan, if specific enough, may be the best tool to ensure these several documents are mutually supportive–this should/could mean it has to anticipate and guide the development of the other documents. I hope we can review the draft city strategic plan with that in mind.

I request the City reply as soon as possible to questions one and two — on April 18 I will try to make the third point at the hearing, if necessary after review of the draft..
